Best made plans…

This morning- Wichita, Kansas…

Best made plans. Our hope was that we would be on the coast of California right now. I guess I did say in my previous post – “we plan…” as opposed to “ we will…”. You can plan as best you can but circumstances always win out!

Yesterday started off so well !

Yesterday morning- 6 am up and out of Winnipeg with clear skies

Our kids O’Danis and Isaiah (both pilots ) were up at 4:30am in order to fly us in a PC-12 to Moundridge, Kansas to pick up the Caravan

Last picture before getting in the plane
Starting up the engine- only to discover an indicator problem in the aircraft

So – the day was spent deciding the next step. Our plan changed to most likely going back to Canada with the PC-12 and waiting for word when the plane would be fixed. But again- another change in plan- mechanics showed up at 4pm! – were able to correct the problem in a couple hours and sign off the plane ready to go!

We spent the night in Wichita and woke up to a big weather system. We are now rerouting our flight plan because of weather – the Caravan is filled with fuel – snowstorms in Colorado- so need to get above weather and route further south than initially planned

Figuring out the next step…and building a route south to find clear skies to fly above the Rockies on our way to California.
Kids off

Never mind- same indicator problem. The day will reveal our next step…

The PC-12 has gone back to Canada and we will wait in Kansas for the plane to be fixed – the maintenance staff have been incredibly helpful- we will see- that’s as far as our plans go today:)
