Last leg – Solomons to Mareeba

Departing in the morning from Honiara
We met up with Tony Skelton from Australia – a pilot and friend who is working in Honiara
Honiara flying out
And flying away from Honiara up over the mountains and over the jungles
I do find these flights remarkable – the density of the jungle
And then – in the middle of the jungle – a home
And I cannot imagine the effort in bringing in machinery such as this
And the jungle continues on
Leaving Solomon Islands
Our route to Cairns
The Great Barrier Reef
The Coast of Australia
I think this is a netted off area by a hotel in the ocean for swimming to protect swimmers from the crazy lethal jellyfish –
Airstrip in Cairns – landing to clear customs
A very short flight up over the mountain into Mareeba
A wonderful welcome at MAF

And this delivery is done.

Thank you so much for joining along. It is such a privilege to be a part of the work of MAF and in particular the journey of N9710M. We are excited for the work and the support this aircraft will provide to so many.

Often when we are doing these ferry flights we fly to remote countries around the world and the important work of MAF becomes so apparent.

In the months to come there are plans for a number of more ferry flights – and I will keep you posted.
